About Jay Lambert
Hello, I’m Jay Lambert, an International Coaching Federation (ICF) Associate Certified Coach (ACC) with a rich Metis heritage. My 20+ years in healthcare transformation, primarily within First Nations environments, are complemented by my experience in mainstream healthcare sectors. This unique background has enabled me to stand with feet firmly planted in both Indigenous and Western worlds, bringing together the best of both in my coaching and consulting work.
My Approach: Empowering Impact Innovators
As a trauma-informed coach, I blend Indigenous ways of knowing with evidence-based best practices. My Metis heritage enriches my approach, allowing me to integrate diverse perspectives and methodologies in my coaching. I provide a relaxed yet focused environment, helping clients to reframe their stories using a strengths-based approach. Empowering Impact Innovators, I help each client realize their innate creativity, resourcefulness, and wholeness.
Cultural Sensitivity and International Expertise
With over two decades working with First Nations across Canada and experiences with Maori in Aotearoa, I have developed a deep cultural sensitivity and expertise. My international work includes engagements with Indigenous communities in the Amazon and contributing to UNDRIP development in the Philippines. My services are offered primarily virtually, ensuring global accessibility, with in-person coaching available in select situations.
Personal Journey: From Burnout to Thriving
My journey into coaching was sparked by both fascination and personal transformation. Overcoming burnout and adrenal fatigue with the help of coaching, I moved from a state of health crisis to thriving. This experience, coupled with my Metis identity, has deeply influenced my approach to wellness and resilience.

Meaning behind the logo
This image was designed for me by a Maori artist, Hori Wihongi. The theme is Kaitiaki, or guardianship, specifically of the sky, the sea and the land. The picture stylistically represents the Maori story of creation. On the left is the Sky Father Ranginui, on the right is Earth Mother Papatuanuku. One of their children, Tanemahuta, pushed earth and sky apart allowing light to come into the world. For my business, this represents my ability to integrate Indigenous and Western practices, stemming from my Métis ancestry—a fusion of European and Cree cultures. We are interconnected; consequently, we must collectively confront challenges together.
